Download the PNG, put it on a light background with clear space around it, and print it at least 2 cm across for cards and 5 cm for signs. How do I write a UK mobile number in a WhatsApp link?
Drop the leading 0 and put 44 in front: 07700 900123 becomes wa.me/447700900123. Type it with the 0 and spaces if that is how you write it; the tool removes them. Landlines follow the same rule, so 020 7946 0123 becomes 442079460123.
Can a UK landline or business number be on WhatsApp?
Yes, through the free WhatsApp Business app, which can verify a landline by phone call instead of text message. The link format is identical for personal and Business accounts. The Business app adds a profile with opening hours and address, a catalogue and automatic greeting and away messages. If you reply from a personal number, customers see your personal name and photo, which is why most businesses set up a separate Business account.
What is a wa.me link?
It is WhatsApp's official click-to-chat link. It looks like wa.me/14375550123 and opens a chat with that number in the WhatsApp app, or in WhatsApp Web on a computer.
Does the customer need to save my number first?
No. Tapping the link or scanning the code opens the chat directly. Your business name and profile photo appear once you reply.
Can I use this with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The link format is the same for WhatsApp Business and regular WhatsApp. If you use WhatsApp Business, you can also set a greeting message that sends automatically when a new customer writes.
How do I add the link to Instagram or my Google Business Profile?
Copy the link, then paste it into the website field of your Instagram bio or as a button link in your Google Business Profile. On your own website, use it as the address of a "Chat on WhatsApp" button.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code only contains the link, so it keeps working for as long as that number is on WhatsApp. If you change your number, generate and print a new code.
