Invoice generator for the European Union
Invoice for any EU country with its standard VAT and currency, as a PDF — free, nothing stored.
Standard VAT for the EU country you pick; no reduced rates or reverse charge.
Invoice generators by country
Same tool, opened with the country, currency and tax options already set.
How it works
The invoice updates as you type: each line is quantity times rate, the discount comes off the subtotal, and tax is added at the rate for your country and region, such as 13% HST in Ontario, a custom rate, or none. Download PDF prints only the invoice. Everything stays on your device unless you tick the keep box.
Common questions
What must an EU VAT invoice include?
The EU VAT Directive sets a common minimum: invoice date and sequential number, your VAT number, the customer's VAT number for business sales, both names and addresses, the description, quantity and unit price, the date of supply, the taxable amount per rate, the VAT rate and amount, and the total. Each country adds its own details, language or e-invoicing rules, so check your national tax authority.
Which VAT rate do I charge a business customer in another EU country?
Usually none: cross-border business-to-business sales are typically reverse-charged, so you invoice at 0% with both VAT numbers and the words "reverse charge", and the customer accounts for the VAT. Sales to consumers in other EU countries can require the customer's country rate under the OSS scheme. This tool applies one standard rate, so adjust it for those cases.
Do all EU countries use the euro on invoices?
No. 21 countries use the euro, including Bulgaria since 1 January 2026; Czechia, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Sweden invoice in their own currency, and the tool switches to it. You may invoice in another currency, but the VAT amount usually has to be shown in the national currency as well.
What has to be on an invoice in Canada?
At minimum your business name, the date, and the total. If you charge GST/HST, invoices of $100 or more also need your GST/HST registration number and the tax amount or rate, and invoices of $500 or more need the buyer's name, payment terms and a description of each item so they can claim the tax back. The CRA publishes the current list.
Do I have to charge HST or GST?
You must register and charge it once your taxable sales pass $30,000 over four consecutive calendar quarters. Below that you are a small supplier and can choose to register, which lets you claim back the tax you pay on business purchases. Until you are registered, leave the tax set to "No tax".
Which tax rate do I use for a client in another province?
Usually the rate of the province where your customer receives the goods or service, not where you are. An Ontario business invoicing an Alberta client normally charges 5% GST, and invoicing a Nova Scotia client charges 14% HST. Provinces with their own PST or QST have separate registration rules, so check before you charge those.
Which parts of the invoice change when I pick another country?
The currency and its number format, the tax options (province, sales tax rate, VAT rate, GST rate) and the name of the tax ID field (GST/HST number, VAT number, GSTIN, ABN) follow the country you pick. Line items, discount, notes, logo and the PDF work the same everywhere. The rates are for guidance only; what you must charge depends on your registration and where your customer is, so confirm with your tax authority or accountant.
How do I save the invoice as a PDF?
Click Download PDF and choose "Save as PDF" as the printer in the dialog that opens. On an iPhone or Android phone, the print preview offers a share or save option that creates the PDF.
Is my invoice stored anywhere?
No. Everything you type stays in your browser and nothing is sent to us. If you tick "Keep this invoice in this browser", a copy is saved in your browser's local storage on that device only, and unticking the box deletes it.
Can I reuse it for next month's invoice?
Yes. With the keep box ticked, the page reopens with your details and the last line items in place, so you only change the number, dates and items. If you send a lot of invoices every month, a proper invoicing setup linked to your email and bank is a normal part of our tech help work.
